Take attendance

Choose a program and date, then mark each student Present, Absent, Late or Excused. Every mark saves as you click.

On this page

Steps

  1. Open Attendance. Pick the class in Program, or leave All programs to see every student you teach.
  2. The Date defaults to today. Choose the calendar to pick another day; Today jumps back.
  3. Click a student's status. It starts as Unmarked. Choose Present, Absent, Late or Excused.
  4. Move on to the next student. The register saves each mark immediately and shows Saved on the row.

Days with no session

If the program has a weekly timetable, or the school has added a closure such as Eid, the register header says so, for example Closed: Eid al-Fitr or No session on Fridays, and each student shows No session instead of a status. Nothing can be marked on those days. Ask an administrator to add a Session entry in Calendar if a class did meet. See Academic calendar.

Changing or clearing a mark

Click the status again to open the choices and pick a different one. Clicking the status that is already selected clears it back to Unmarked. The footer keeps a running count: 3 present · 1 absent · 0 late · 1 excused.

Finding a student

Type in Find a student to narrow the list. If nothing matches, the register says No students match; choose Clear search.

How attendance is counted

On a student's record and in the parent's view, Present and Late both count as attended. Absent and Excused do not. Days you leave Unmarked are not counted at all, so an untaken register does not lower anyone's attendance.
